Camino Francés: the French Way, stage by stage

The most walked of the Camino de Santiago routes crosses from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port at the foot of the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. WalkSage covers it as a 33-stage campaign — but where most guides march you to the same crowded landmarks, ours slow down for the places the river of pilgrims flows straight past.

How these guides are different

Each stage guide lists the towns you'll pass, the points of interest worth a detour, and a Local Angle for each — the quieter hour, the better path, the detail the guidebooks skip. Every factual claim carries cited sources, and anything we haven't verified is labelled honestly: distances we can't confirm say "see stage map", not a guessed number. Overcrowded staples are deliberately left out.

Stages

The 33 planned stage guides publish as they clear verification. A rendering sample (marked draft) may be visible below while the pipeline spins up.
